Ключові вимоги та умови подачі

  1. Who can apply for a grant?

The application is submitted by a consortium: a professor from ETH Zürich or a research group leader from EPFL, Eawag, Empa, PSI, or WSL, together with at least one non-academic partner from Ukraine. Ukrainian universities may participate, but they do not replace the practical partner.

  2. Language of the application

The application is completed in English via an online form on the ETH4D website. It is submitted jointly by a Swiss researcher and a practical partner; therefore, the community's needs should be defined together in advance.

  3. Registration Requirements

The practical partner must be a public institution, a private company, or a civil society organization from Ukraine. It is desirable for the project to align with the priorities of the SECO cooperation program in Ukraine.

  4. Mandatory project outcomes

A pilot grant yields a pilot study and an established partnership, which may evolve into an application for a research grant. A research grant results in a solution for the city - such as a tool, policy, service, or prototype - that has been developed, tested, or evaluated.

  5. Permissible measures

Applied research, pilot studies, and the testing and evaluation of new tools, policies, and services for cities. Infrastructure construction, engineering design for construction, and any activities related to military purposes are not eligible for funding.

  6. Submission deadline

Applications are accepted until November 15, 2026, via an online form on the ETH4D website. It is advisable to find a Swiss partner in advance; the ETH4D program manager and KRDA can assist with this.
