ARRKO Focus Group: Strategic Opportunities for Yahotyn Community
How do you make a community attractive to investors, convenient for residents and comfortable for business? These were the very questions discussed during a focus group in Yahotyn community, led by Valentyna Poltavets together with the Kyiv Regional Development Agency team.
Taking part in the discussion were:
Natalia Dzyuba – mayor, Serhii Pomazun – first deputy mayor, Larysa Domina – head of the land resources department, Serhii Diuhtiar – head of the socio-economic development department, Viktor Kryskov – head of the urban planning and architecture department, Serhii Halas – small business representative, Vitalii Myrhorodskyi – civil society sector representative.
Key areas for the community’s development:
- Infrastructure initiatives – the implementation of 46 projects in DREAM – the State Digital Ecosystem for Recovery Management, including the capital repair of shelters at Lyceum No. 3 and the “Prolisok” children’s institution. The community also has the opportunity to convert unfinished facilities into new social spaces.
- Economic potential – the community actively attracts business and has a significant land fund, which opens up prospects for entrepreneurs. Its favourable location and developed logistics create additional opportunities for investors.
- Educational opportunities – the presence of educational institutions makes it possible to train qualified personnel for local business and industry.
- Environmental challenges – the community is working to resolve the problem of unauthorised waste dumps, improve road infrastructure and implement water purification solutions.
We thank Yahotyn community for its activity, openness and desire to develop together. We believe that such meetings give rise to solutions that change the community’s life for the better. Together – towards new opportunities!
The focus groups are being carried out with the grant support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
