Cooperation with the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation

The Kyiv Regional Development Agency has become the first partner of the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation in Kyiv region!

It is an associate member of the European Food Banks Federation – FEBA. The European Food Banks Federation – FEBA is a non-profit organisation that unites food bank networks in 30 European countries. From the very start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Federation reacted immediately, already on 24 February, and launched the #AllTogether4Ukraine campaign.

The Ukrainian Federation is a charitable organisation established almost four months ago, but even in such a short time it has managed to set up two logistics hubs in Kyiv and Lviv, and distribute 15 thousand food parcels, weighing over 200 tonnes in total, to people in need. The organisation has more than 100 volunteers, and their number keeps growing.

We are all working to bring powerful regional and nationwide organisations together for the development of Kyiv region! That is why, this week, the Kyiv Regional Development Agency and the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation signed a memorandum of cooperation.

“The European Food Banks Federation is currently one of the largest organisations in the world specialising in supporting and strengthening food banks across European countries. The Federation is gradually entering the Ukrainian market, and our Agency has become its first partner in Kyiv region! We understand the importance of this cooperation and have already begun joint work with the Ukrainian Federation. Together we will promote the development of Kyiv region at various levels: informational, economic and investment. We also plan to jointly open humanitarian aid points in Kyiv region and distribute humanitarian aid packages to those in need,” noted Oleksandr Vakhovskyi, Director of the Agency.

Cooperation with the Federation also involves the development and creation of regional development projects and programmes, building the region’s investment appeal, participation in joint research, and – most importantly – the implementation of these programmes and projects.

Joint work is the key to the development of Kyiv region!
