«Icons on Ammunition Crates»
In difficult times, Ukrainians stand out for their incredible mutual support in resolving the most critical issues. We all share a common goal – Victory over the enemy – and we are moving towards it together.
Ukrainian business is no exception, showing heightened social responsibility: it does not seek extra opportunities to make huge fortunes, but instead aims to hold the economic front and support defenders and their families as much as possible.
On 25 December, a charity exhibition titled «Icons on Ammunition Crates» opened at St. Michael’s Cathedral, with the Agency as one of its co-organisers. On crates that once held ammunition, the married couple Oleksandr Klymenko and Sofia Atlantova paint icons. Some of the crates were collected in Kyiv region after the fighting and occupation.
All the icons presented at the exhibition can be purchased, and the proceeds from the sales will go to the families of fallen soldiers of the 114th Territorial Defence Brigade of Kyiv region.
One of the icons was purchased by Andrii Ilchenko, director of the company K.tex, who has already today handed it over to the Irpin City Council as a symbol of protection and a talisman. In this way, the families of fallen defenders received additional financial support, and Irpin, a hero city of Ukraine, received a unique icon that has become a symbol of the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.
We believe! We fight! We will win!
