Kyiv Oblast RDA at TechnoForum in Bucha: digital solutions for community development
The team of the Kyiv Regional Development Agency took an active part in the first TechnoForum “Digital Communities: IT Solutions for Reconstruction and Regional Resilience” in the BIH region, held in Bucha. The forum became a platform for sharing experience and knowledge among 118 participants from Lithuania and 14 communities of Kyiv Oblast. Those present included IT specialists, representatives of local government, business and the civil sector, united by a shared desire to use innovation for the development of their home region.
Decentralisation reform has fostered the independence and autonomy of communities, so the quality of digital solutions at the local level depends precisely on local government bodies. Panel discussions were held as part of the Forum, dedicated to:
Digital tools for reconstruction. Participants examined in detail the possibilities of digital twins of cities using the examples of Bucha and Borodianka, discussed the implementation of Smart Grid technologies in Irpin, and the digital analysis of the energy potential of Slavutych, which has its own solar cooperative.
Effective resource management. Experts presented the DREAM digital ecosystem for accountable management of reconstruction projects and fundraising, as well as the iTree system, which enables Bila Tserkva's Department of Municipal Improvement to efficiently record green plantings and manage parks and public gardens.
The forum also highlighted that, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, 32 communities in Kyiv Oblast have already appointed digital leaders working on the implementation of innovative solutions. Participants emphasised that digital technologies not only make residents' lives easier and automate administrative services, but also promote the development of e-governance and increase government transparency.
In addition, Lithuanian expert Tomas Gulbinas highly praised Ukraine's achievements in digitalisation and stressed the importance of developing satellite cities such as Bucha and Irpin as autonomous ecosystems using digital tools.
