New horizons for Kyiv Oblast communities: synergy of science, international experience and territorial development

🤝 Recently, the Kyiv Regional Development Agency initiated an important meeting that brought together the academic community and international expertise. Together with Nick Williams, a specialist in sustainable economic development and Smart Cities, we visited the Faculty of Geography at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

💡 The key topic of discussion was potential cooperation between the university and international partners. Together with Kostiantyn Mezentsev, Head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography, and Associate Professor Olena Kononenko, we looked for common ground for:

• introducing innovative tools into the development of Ukrainian cities;

• strengthening the analytical base for the region’s economic recovery;

• engaging scientific potential in the Agency’s projects.

🎓 It is critically important for us that Kyiv Oblast’s development strategies are based on in-depth geographical and economic research, and that Nick Williams’s international experience in creating “smart cities” becomes a catalyst for positive changes in our communities.
