Participation in a strategic meeting

The Kyiv Regional Development Agency recently took part in a strategic working meeting organised by the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine with the support of the UCORD Project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine”.

The meeting was joined by:

• the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine;

• directors of the oblast Regional Development Agencies;

• representatives of the UCORD project;

• oblast military administrations.

The main points discussed during the meeting:

• Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksii Riabykin emphasised the importance of RDAs in helping communities and regions implement key projects.

• The Ministry sees the agencies as centres for developing the human-resource potential of local self-government bodies and state authorities.

• Oleksii Riabykin assured the ministry's support for RDAs and its readiness for ongoing dialogue to resolve problems.

• UCORD project manager Maryna Bryl emphasised the importance of strengthening the role of RDAs and announced a study trip to Romania for the directors of all Ukrainian RDAs and representatives of their supervisory boards, as well as opportunities to participate in grant programmes.

• Representatives of the RDAs also discussed achievements, problems and key priorities, including community support, business assistance and attracting investment.

The meeting became a platform for constructive dialogue and exchange of experience.
