The Importance of Dual Education During the War
👉Graduates of Ukrainian vocational and higher education institutions are one of the components of the successful development and growth of Ukraine’s production potential. It is therefore important that people gain not only knowledge, but also sufficient practical experience for their future work in their field.
On 27 June, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine registered Order No. 426 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 13 April 2023, which approves the Regulation on the Dual Form of Obtaining Vocational and Higher Education. This Regulation is very important not only for students, but also for businesses. So, let’s take a look at what this type of education is and why it matters.
📍Dual education is a method that involves combining study simultaneously at educational institutions and in the workplace. Theoretical classes make up approximately 30% of the curriculum, while the rest is devoted to practical work.
This format has several advantages at once. First, young people can try their hand at working in their field while still studying, start building their own careers, and understand the principles of their work and the operation of the enterprise.
Second, Ukraine gains highly qualified specialists immediately after graduation from an educational institution. And these will not simply be labourers, but educated and qualified employees.
And, most importantly, an increase in the number of specialists with a high level of skills and abilities will increase the investment attractiveness of the region.
Several dozen vocational and higher education institutions operate in Kyiv Oblast, graduating thousands of specialists every year. It is extremely important that entrepreneurs and representatives of relevant agencies shape demand for professions that will be in demand in the future.
Introducing dual education in educational institutions involves more than just increasing practical hours at enterprises. Dual education programmes also include independent work, practical classes at educational institutions, and knowledge assessments. This requires specially equipped training facilities. Very few institutions can provide themselves with the necessary resources on their own. Finding investors is not always an option. It is therefore worth seeking out grant providers who have the resources and, most importantly, the willingness to support the education sector.
📌It is therefore necessary to build connections not only with existing enterprises, but also with investors. This will help create new jobs and attract even more external capital for the development of production within Kyiv Oblast.
Joining forces for the economic stability of Kyiv Oblast!
