Visit by representatives of Finland to Ukraine
International support continues. Finland is a powerful ally, a reliable partner and a friendly country for Ukraine. The Finnish government has been providing the Ukrainian people with the necessary military, economic and humanitarian assistance since the first days of the war. Last month, the Nordic country developed a Plan for participation in the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine, and as early as January representatives of Finnish business made a visit to Kyiv Oblast.
The visit was organised in close cooperation between Kyiv Regional Development Agency and the representative office of Miltton – a leading consulting company in Northern Europe, with more than 400 experts representing various spheres of society: business, media, politics, research, defence, geopolitics, digital technologies, the financial market and more. The visit programme included a trip around the industrial parks of Kyiv region and meetings with community heads.
The final part of the visit to Kyiv Oblast was an official meeting with the Finnish delegation, held at Kyiv Regional State Administration with the participation of deputy heads Lesia Karnaukh and Mykola Boiko and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation and Department of Economy of Kyiv Oblast State Administration. During the meeting, they discussed future fruitful cooperation, outlined areas of work and opportunities, and the participation of the Finnish private sector in rebuilding facilities that were damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian aggression.
The Plan that has been developed outlines the needs and organisation of international assistance for Ukraine’s recovery, and also proposes financial solutions for Finnish companies to conduct market research, find partners, and access export financing and investment. In addition, the Plan presents advisory services that companies can receive from the Team Finland network and other members of the business community.
The second part of the Plan, which is planned to be developed during 2024, will focus on the participation of Finnish state authorities and all stakeholders in the reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as on the use of funds from Finnish development cooperation funds in Ukraine. The Kyiv Regional Development Agency will also be actively involved in implementing the Plan’s projects.
