Webinar “Industrial Parks and Attracting Investment to Kyiv Oblast”
Yesterday Kyiv Regional Development Agency together with Ukraine Invest held a webinar on “Industrial Parks and Attracting Investment to Kyiv Oblast”.
During the webinar, investment experts shared their experience and advice on implementing investment projects, the system of state incentives, programmes and other financial instruments that can help attract investment.
“Despite the difficult situation in the country, investors are currently interested in Ukraine. For example, a project by Carlsberg Group (the Danish brewing company) worth $40 million is being implemented in Ukraine, as well as one by Kingspan Group (a construction materials manufacturer) worth €300 million. This is a good signal for international investors,” notes Maksym Bondarenko, Head of the Investment Attraction and Support Department at Ukraine Invest.
In addition, representatives of Ukraine Invest spoke more about investment opportunities for projects with significant investment (€12+ million), industrial parks, and state support.
“There are various state incentives to support the implementation of investment projects. For example, investment nannies – free consulting for both Ukrainian and international investors. Moreover, the European Union plans to create a Ukraine Facility worth €50 billion to finance reconstruction projects in Ukraine during 2024–2027,” adds Maksym Bondarenko.
It is entirely possible to interest an investor and implement a project in Ukraine. It is not an easy path, but it is a significant contribution to the country’s economy.
“Our Agency divides investors into three broad categories: international financial institutions, domestic investors and private foreign investors. As a rule, their decision-making criteria are generally similar: the risks, the project’s profitability and the level of protection for the investments made. The Regional Development Agency can help assess a project’s profitability and the potential level of protection for invested funds,” sums up Oleksandr Vakhovskyi, Director of ARRKO.
